Newly built gallery delights Las Vegas Arts District
LAS VEGAS, NV., October 8, 2009 — Brett Wesley Gallery, a contemporary art gallery featuring paintings, photography and sculptures marks its one year anniversary with the completion of its new building in the Las Vegas Arts District. The grand opening will be on Thursday, October 8, 2009 with a reception from 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. The opening exhibition titled “Symbolic Gesture” will showcase paintings by Franklin Perkins, Kevin Chupik, sculptures by Gerald Basil Stripling and vintage photography by Lawrence Schiller. Along with the paintings and sculptures within, the two-story gallery building is a work of art itself. Featuring a mid-century modern architectural design conceived by Brett W. Sperry and spacious exhibition areas with wood floors, exposed beams, glass staircase, crystal chandelier and expansive glass windows. The new gallery is a fresh, engaging space featuring a mix of local and international art from Danny Roberts, Andrew Myers, and John Bell to Julian Opie, Albert Watson, and Marilyn Minter. Brett Wesley hosts monthly art receptions and lectures with renowned artists in addition to a wide range of cultural events and educational salons which discuss creative processes, collecting, art movements, and emerging trends. About Brett W. Sperry
Prior to opening the gallery, Brett was founder and president of Westwood Studios, a software design studio and publisher, which he ran for 15 years. During his long tenure at Westwood, he was responsible for new product development, art direction, and publishing strategy. With an eye for innovative design and distinctive visuals, Brett was the creative leader and publisher of over a dozen commercial hits.
A long time collector and student of contemporary art, Brett’s desires and designs for a new art gallery culminated with the acquisition of a building at the heart of the Arts
