Marcos Rivera
Marcos began his life in the arts as a Musician. After many years of studying (attending Berklee College of Music) and playing in various bands, he turned his focus to his career as a Digital Marketing consultant. During his 12 year career working with top level graphic designers, he began to work as a staff photographer and art director, developing his aesthetic while producing portraits and product photography for his corporate clients.
After leaving his career behind, Marcos decided to leave New York for Las Vegas to pursue his portrait work full-time. In May of 2010 he opened Photo Bang Bang in downtown Las Vegas with fellow artist and friend Curtis Walker
Artist Statement
Narratives is a series I started with a simple idea: build a simple set and allow my subjects the opportunity to work with me to tell a story about their lives. Everyone is at a different point along their personal time line, all being defined by their successes and failures along the way. The portraits that make up Narratives are not meant to tell a complete story, just to capture a moment that helps to define that particular subject(s)… with full knowledge and understanding that there is more to come for each of them.
