Brett Wesley Gallery hosts Opening Reception for: The New Millennials

Las Vegas, Nevada, November 10, 2008 —Brett Wesley Gallery announces the opening reception for its premiere art event entitled, The New Millennials. Join us Friday, November 21, 2008 at 6pm hosted by the Newport Lofts, 200 Hoover Ave. in penthouse suite 2109. The Brett Wesley Gallery is currently undergoing extensive renovations and is located at 1112 Casino Center Blvd., in the heart of the Downtown Arts District.

The New Millennials, features emerging artists from Los Angeles, Laguna Beach and Las Vegas. These exciting new artists invite you on a journey of self-discovery. Each captures our shared experiences, reflects our interior life and represents the art of our time. By representing these ascending artists, Brett Wesley is framing the conversation on the next great fine arts movement. The artists featured:

Suzan Woodruff’s paintings are evocative, emotional and eloquent statements of abstract beauty. Her unique style creates vibrant vistas, both internal and external, both organic and lyrical, suggesting landscapes, seascapes and ethereal realms of one’s own inner reflections. Woodruff is from Phoenix currently living in Los Angeles. Her considerable works have shown in galleries and collections around the country.

Danny Roberts’ bold kinetic oil paintings make a potent statement about the drama, darkness and absurdity that can define corporate culture and the chaos of modern life. Sometimes hopeful, sometimes heartbreaking, they examine our conflicted relationships with culture, nature and responsibility. Roberts is a native Las Vegan who has shown on the west coast and around the southwest.

Susan Burnstine’s black and white photographic visions often remind you of still-images from a half-remembered dream. Her timeless, soft stylized blur effects are achieved by making her own cameras. Bernstein is originally from Chicago, now living in Los Angeles. Her photography has appeared in many art and photography magazines and won numerous awards.

Gerard Basil creates extraordinary abstract sculptures in bronze. Through his very personal musings or his worldly observations, he expresses the thoughts, feelings and dreams we experience every day through shape, color and form. Basil grew up in the heart of LA and now lives in Laguna Beach.

The Brett Wesley Gallery is currently undergoing extensive renovations and is located at 1112 Casino Center Blvd., in the heart of the Downtown Arts District. When it is finished, it will be a new star in the 81b Arts District of Las Vegas. In the meantime, Newport Lofts is sponsoring this exciting show with a penthouse view of the city.

What makes Brett Wesley Gallery distinctive is the unique blend of emerging and established artists rarely seen in the Las Vegas valley. Add to this the desire to expand the visual dialog, and create an epicenter where bold and relevant works of the New Millennium are celebrated and discussed.

The gallery will be a dynamic engaging place featuring: art receptions, how-to sessions with renowned artists, lectures on collecting, preservation, and all the stories artists and gallerists will share with art fans, collectors and emerging artists.  Brett Wesley’s two goals are to re-invent the gallery experience and show works that are bold and relevant–and whether you love what you see there or not, there will always be something memorable and worth talking about at Brett Wesley.
