Juliane Hundertmark was born in Mainz in 1971 and lives in Berlin, Germany. She studied Design and Stage Design at Bayreuth and has a Masters in Fine Arts from the Academy of Fine Art of Nuremberg. Her work has been exhibited extensively at art fairs worldwide including VOLTA N Y and Context Art Fair Miami. She has also participated in several solo shows and group exhibitions with galleries in London, Leipzig and Berlin.

Juliane’s work is award today, as one of Berlin’s most creative, inventive, and identitary emerging painters.

The artist talks about “everyday life” events, including metaphorical characters. Some faces could be influenced by Bacon, Munch, and some interior patterns by Hockney.

Looking through Hundertmark paintings could act as a mirror and put the art lover in the center of dreamy scene, reinforce by the animals and teddy bears faces, mixed with weird humans. A return to the childhood that emphasize the contrast between dark humour and deep societal issues. Surrealistic visions could appears, sometimes strong, sometimes sweet, but most of the time with a no hidden sense of humor .

Technics includes a perfect mix between Collage, drawing and painting. Most of Hundertmark’s canvas are big size, and the mix with smaller drawing and installations complete her artistic world. (artland.com)
