Our partnership of photographer/manipulator was born from the idea of producing impossible images. Our process is akin to filmmaking, where both photography and post-production are integral to creating a final piece.

We had been sitting on the idea of producing images of a giant immersed in fashion, consumption and desire in a city that not necessarily invented the idea, but definitely indulges in it.  We decided to take an architectural and editorial approach with this project. This required a lot of planning and preparation to make sure the images didn’t look “photoshopped” and that the model fit in with her surrounding with ease. As with filmmaking, we started with scouting our locations, storyboarding each shot and photographing each scene. The model was meticulously styled to fit in to each setting. Then each pose was choreographed to be as truthful to the architectural images as well as the lighting and camera angle. It took an arduous two months from the start of the project to its completion.
